Default What's your skin care regime?

Mine is:

Daytime: Devita natural SPF 30 sunscreen.

Nighttime:
Wash face with Loreal 360 clean for sensitive skin
Every few nights out on retin a then origins mushroom cream on top

Pretty simple, what's yours?

I can't seem to develop a pattern. Usually wash my face in the AM with a treatment type cleanser (Lately by Dermalogica), but only manage to wipe my face down with a damp cloth at bedtime, just can't deal with washing my face at the sink.

If I wore makeup these days I guess I'd make a bigger effort, but ah, well.

If the treatment cleanser seems like overkill, I switch to one of my 'just a cleaner' products, simple face washes with no added active ingredients. The one I'm using mostly these days is by Paula's Choice, it's pretty simple.

These days I've become less consistent with my skin care routine, but when I stay consistent (usually if I wear makeup), it is:
Morning: wash face with water or SLS-free bar soap
Evening:
wash face with Clearasil daily face wash or SLS-free bar soap
apply Dickinson Witch Hazel toner
moisurize with the now-discontinued Biore Moisturizing lotion (SPF 30)

Im pretty basic wash in the evening with bronners, apply reviva 5% glycolic, and use moisturizer/salcylic acid spot treat as needed. I exfoliate in the shower with my scrub glove when i need to other than that not much special, my eczema takes all the attention.

I use nothing on my skin that I couldn't eat.
Typically in the AM I might wash with a little oil, wipe it off with warm water, then moisturize. My moisturizer changes up....could be Shea butter, or olive oil, or even crisco(!).... I might do a Miracle Whip face mask before cleansing. In the PM, same thing. I haven't soap on my face in 25 years, and steer clear of products. I am 47, but I have no wrinkles.
I exfoliate a lot, either with sugar or salt, or maybe my scrubby mitt thing. I like to use ACV as a toner sometimes. As you can see, I switch things up a lot, but the consistent thing is that I steer clear of soaps and mass produced lotions.

I don't wear all-over makeup - just eyeshadows, eye-liners and lip balms/sticks, and most of those very rarely - so I just use St. Ives apricot scrub on my face, neck and shoulders once per day (usually when I shower). I wash my face after working out or otherwise breaking a sweat, because I'll itch if I don't, but usually that's just with a splash or two of water.

I don't use any moisturisers yet, but I read a beauty tip somewhere that if you use a moisturiser on your face, make sure to get your neck with it as well. Supposedly you will be glad you did later in life?

I'm kind of addicted to skin care and love the whole routine...especially before bed, as it helps my brain wind down for the night.

AM
CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
Skin Biology Super GHK Serum (Copper Peptides)
Thayers Rosewater Toner (I mist it lightly and let it dry)
CeraVe AM Moisturizer SPF 30 *or* Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer
Laura Mericer Mineral Foundation SPF 15
Remaining makeup

PM
Sonia Kashuk Eye Makeup Remover (this stuff is fabulous)
J&J Head-to-Toe Baby Wash or Alpha Hydrox Foaming Cleanser or OCM with MCT oil or Pond's Cold Cream (it really comes down to how deeply I want to clean and/or the fragrance)
Skin Biology Super GHK Serum (Copper Peptides)
Retin-A mixed with CeraVe PM Moisturizer (Retin-A for anti-aging)
Dionis Lip Balm (amazing stuff, too...buy it at Cracker Barrel--I hate the food, love the gift store LOL)

Every Saturday or Sunday Evening
Instead of Retin A and CeraVe PM, I use 14% AHA peel and go to bed without moisturizer since the peel has hyaluronic acid in it, which moisturizes well enough for one night. I will soon be bumping this up to a 30% glycolic acid peel.

I am in the process of redeveloping my skincare routine because my skin has started to change. It's become much more dry as I hit my mid-thirties. Maybe I just haven't been paying attention, but it feels like it happened overnight!

My current skincare routine is:

AM
St. Ives Green Tea Scrub
St. Ives Green Tea Cleanser
Have a Vine Day Chardonnay Moisturizer
Rosehip Oil (around the eyes)

PM
St. Ives Green Tea Cleanser
Thayer's Rosewater Witch Hazel
Rosehip Oil (entire face/neck)

Oh and girlcat, I have read about your routine on LHC before, and you have amazing skin. It's just beautiful. You inspire me to make my routine much more natural than it is now.

This is a great thread.

I do a raw honey mask in the morning and night and wipe/steam it off with a hot wash cloth. This past weekend I got some all natural astringent/toner (Aubrey Organics Astringent) to add to the routine and it has really helped and isn't drying at all. I have mild-moderate acne which flares up when I eat too much sugar and it's healing now. Any moisturizing I do is done with extra virgin coconut oil, but I tend to not use it because I worry that it clogs my pores.
