Default Favourite snacks/nibbles?

Healthy or downright unhealthy - I don't care.

What do you like to snack on? What are you snacking on right now?

I'm eating a handful (or two, or three - I'll try to STOP now!) of honey-roasted peanuts while I wait for my lunch (a thrown-together out of what I had in the freezer beef-goulash kind of stew. With dumplings) to heat up. I couldn't cope with my stomach growling any longer.

Not an entirely healthy choice though.

What about you?

For me - it's always chocolate - much to the detriment of my waistline(sigh).

I'm attempting to eat healthily right now and am losing weight Not dieting, just avoiding processed sugars, but slipped up slightly yesterday and ate a small bar of chocolate and a mouthful of chocolate sponge (It can be hard when you work as a cake decorator)! Yesterday was stressful, trying to keep up with so many customer orders and having to get everything done on time.

However, today is a new day and work is always easier on a Saturday, might even get to finish early....

I'm dieting too. I'm trying hard not to think of any food as off limits. Either I try and limit the naughty things when I have the willpower or else I allow myself a bit of a bigger indulge and make up for it by eating healthier the rest of the time.

Although I've hit a bit of a plateau to be fair - maybe I'm not really trying hard enough!

I like to bake my own Chex mix. I combine Chex cereal, pretzel sticks, nuts, tiny melba toast bits and cheez-its in a bowl with Worcestershire sauce, then spread it on a baking sheet and put it into the oven on 250 degrees, for about 1 hour, stirring around every 10 minutes or so. It's awesome!

Sometimes I'll add differently-flavoured powders, like garlic, onion, cajun seasoning...

Another favourite of mine is to bake prepared jalapeno poppers (the cream cheese-filled kind, directions on the box) and dip them into strawberry preserves.

Dark chocolate is definitely my top one, so much that I try to not buy it often as it gets eaten within a couple of days once it gets in the house. If there's no chocolate around, I try to not snack at all.

Apple slices and peanut butter.

Or a small bar of dark chocolate. mmm. I also eat French Silk ice cream - a small serving, though. I don't deprive myself of the things I love and crave... just make sure I don't go overboard with it.

Those of you that love chocolate but are watching your waistlines - I recommend this website:
http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/

I've also been known to eat a bowl of cereal at midnight.

Goldfish crackers are my favorite.

For an actual snack, I'm more likely to put together a plate of assorted foods. Sandwich meat, cheeses, pickles, boiled eggs. Or veggies and pita with hummus.
