Shine!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! this is my first post here! I have been a member of long hair community for years! although my hair is still not very long, ugg, ANYWAY. I joined this forum specifically to ask a question about this!

I LOOOOVVVEEEEEE Things that shine, all things glitter and sequins. and I mean ALL THINGS. basically if it shines, then more than I likely I want to add it to my wardrobe! BUT.........I am 28 years old.

I have been told by several different individuals. that I am too old to wear my shiny style.

So my question is, is it true? am I too old to sparkle from head to toe, everywhere I go?

Hey, if it makes you happy, wear it! I myself have never liked sparkly things ON ME, so I avoid them, but I would never say someone else shouldn't. Some people look fantastic in them, you must be one. I am 27 (i think.) and I regularly rock lace and velvet, and fluorescent laces or socks, and if I could find a unicorn t shirt I would be wearing that too, so I don't think you're ever too old for anything.

Of course you're not too old for it! My sister is 67 and she still wears shiny/sparkly! You go for it!

If you are doing sparkly like a toddler, then ya, you are beyond that.
However, if you are rocking shimmer and glimmer rather than craft glitter and cheap spangles, and picking a couple items per wearing that are statements, then oh, no you are hitting stride.

To that I say MEH. I can tell you that I'm a hell of a lot more fun now than I was as a kid, when I pretty much neeeeeever would've worn sparkly/brightly-colored stuff (at least not after I was 7 or 8 or so). Of course, it doesn't hurt that people still regularly mistake me for a teenager, so it's not a big deal if I dress "young" if that's what sparkly stuff is. I think it all just depends on the occasion. I wouldn't wear uber-bling to church or the office, but there are plenty of places I would.

I am part of the camp that believes "what other people think of me is none of my business". I have a pretty eclectic style, but it suits me, I couldn't be happy any other way, and I gave up caring what anyone thought of this quite some time ago. Shine on girl! The world needs us true hearts.
