Wow! I'm impressed I like to carry distractions like books and things, so I can't imagine not having a purse.

Liluri, it was very freeing to just have myself only and not bags to drag all over hell's creation.

I don't carry junk in my purses anyway, just the necessities.

I only carry necessities also. I like everything to have it's own place and no room for extras. I also have to have a new purse every few months.....or less.

I'm sure I don't regard books as junk

On no Liluri, I certainly don't mean books are junk, I mean the junk that can accumulate in your purse when you carry one, like bits of paper, bills, odds and ends, stuff that my kids want me to hold. If I don't carry a purse, then I don't have any of that stuff that I regard as junk.

Books are the good stuff. My purses are too small for books anyway. Maybe that's my problem.

Boggles at the thought of a bag too small for books! Though you might need something just big enough for a book and not big enough for stuff that your kids wnat you to hold

I used to use a double zippered hoboish type purse along time ago.
The I moved to a diaper when my kids were little.
Back with the hobo for awhile, then i discovered mini backpacks and I changed my "carry all". I have too much stuff for anything smaller, and most of the time if someone wants me to put something in there its my husbie.

The new one I bought is a two zippers on top and two tall pocket holders where my cell phone and lip balm go. The inside the zippered pockets is large compartment with smaller "pocket" spaces. I really used to like velvet or leather exteriors, I've decided to stay with the leather or other exteriors that repell liquids
