I'm only using a squirt on my dry toothbrush before I add my toothpaste. Then I squirt the brush again after rinsing it well, to clean it.

I have a partial and I stick my toothbrush in the tub with the efferdent to clean it. I do believe efferdent uses peroxide to clean.

Same here. I never use toothpaste on it though, I read somewhere that toothpaste can scratch man made teeth and then it allows germs to breed in the scratches.

Yes, no toothpaste. I have accidentally brushed my teeth with my partial still in (forgot) and immediately pulled it out and rinsed it off. I think it is the detergents in the toothpaste, not necessarily the abrasiveness. I wonder, since I use an alternative toothpaste, if it matters. I don't want to risk it, those things aren't cheap!

I use peroxide as a whitener. Always worked really well for me, gets my teeth nice and white, although very slowly over time. My momma can't use it though, her teeth get sensitive after a couple of uses. It's not for everyone, everyone reacts differently. Just popping in to say that I've used it regularly for half my life with no adverse effects yet.

There was an episode of "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding" where one of the gypsy women brushed her teeth with peroxide every day. The network ran a disclaimer advising people not to try it!

I've used hydrogen peroxide to rinse my mouth with before. I didn't do it that many times though. It was part of my long running attempts to whiten my teeth without paying out the wazoo for whitening strips. Lol. It made my gums sore.

It works much better and is easier to use (tastes better too) if you mix it 50/50 with vegetable glycerine.

I like this idea much better than staight peroxide. Dh garlges with staight peroxide when he feels like he's getting a sore throat. He feels like he's killing the germs. This is only once or twice a year so he definately isnt overdoing it but if he did the 50/50 mixture it wouldnt matter how often he does it.

When I had braces my orthodontist had me swish a 50/50 mix of hydrogen peroxide and mouthwash to clean every little place I couldn't get with my toothbrush and I had beautiful white teeth.

Hydrogen bubbles when it comes in contact with germs. Your mouth is full of bacteria to aid in digestion, so it foams. Whenever I have a gum problem I swish with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and mouthwash and it always clears it up, plus it whitens your teeth.

Hydrogen peroxide is the main ingredient of MOST teeth-whitening systems so if you have a sensitivity to one, you probably will to the other. But it does work really well, for me at least.

PS. I've used hydrogen peroxide on an infected ingrown toenail and it was the ONLY thing that could get in and clear up the infection and keep it away.
