Default Home made conditioner?

Does anyone have a good recipe for a moisturising conditioner? I live in Spain and the choice is very limited.

I want something natural if possible that I can SMT with and everything I've found here has cones, sulphates or both.

I was wondering about this today too. About homemade cone free conditioners, but don't recall ever seeing a thread on it.

Here is a recipe that LHCer, Brenda, uses once a week. She does not use any other conditioner. I don't know if it would work well in SMT or not.

Brenda's Conditioner
2 eggs, yolks and whites separated
1 cup yogurt
2-3 Tablespoons favorite vegetable(carrier) oil

~Mix egg yolks, yogurt, and oil. Beat egg whites until stiff, and fold into egg yolk mixture. Apply to dry hair. Cover head with a shower cap, and wrap in a warm towel. Leave on 1-2 hours, then shampoo out.

Default Another recipe

Make "hair" mayonnaise

beat in a small bowl until very thick and pale yellow:

1 egg yolk + 1 egg
pinch of mustard powder
pinch of cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon lemon juice, (or lime juice)

now beat in just a few drops at a time, making sure to whisk constantly
1/4 c. or sunflower oil

now beat in another
1 teaspoon lemon or lime juice

continue beating in another 1/4 cup of oil, now you can pour a thin stream as you beat rapidly

beat in 2 more teaspoons of lemon or lime juice

beat in the last 1/2 cup of oil (remember the thin stream).

---------------------
1 egg yolk + 1 egg
pinch mustard powder
pinch cayenne pepper
4-5 tsp. lemon or lime juice (or white vinegar)
1-1.5 c. very light salad oil (sunflower is my favorites)

But in this recipe method is everything. You must make an emulsion, so add the oil very slowly. The dry mustard and cayenne are good for the scalp and hair and make this last in the refrigerator too.

This is essentially salt free mayonnaise.

---------------------------------------------------------
Used straight it is a great conditioner (keep it in the fridge)
You can mix it with honey for even more moisturizing.

Try theHerbarie's HydroBody Conditioner recipe. I love it for CO and SMT. It's so simple to make too.

Here it is: http://theherbarie.com/HydroBody-Conditioner-p-62.html

I also add panthenol. It costs me around $0.33 per oz to make. While VO5 conditioner costs around $0.17 per oz to buy. I make my own because I can't stand the strong smell of commercial products.

Ok thanks, I didn't realise theHerbarie was a site

I'm after home-mades because I live in Spain and shipping is not cheap. Their minimum order for outside the USA is $100.00. So I won't be buying from them, but I'vew bookmarked the site for the instructions in case I manage to find a local supplier.
