![]() Even if they get everything else wrong (like the updos, customs, and speaking patterns) I love how filmakers give almost all the women long hair! I have found my new hair idol: Miss Natalie Portman as Anne from the upcoming film The Other Boleyn Girl.
It doesn't look like she's got extensions, but that could just be me. ![]() |

![]() If that's not her hair, it's incredibly natural-looking. That's a beautiful picture.

![]() I love the hairstyles in period pieces, too. I'm watching a Mexican soap opera that takes place in the mid 1700's (allegedly) and the hair is to die for! Here's a sample. (I'm referring to the woman on the left; the one on the right really got the short end of the stick IMO.)

![]() Not sure if Natalie has had enough time to grow her hair that long. A movie she did a year or so ago she had to shave her head.
http://justjared.buzznet.com/2008/02...portman-spain/ shows photos of her from Saturday. This shows when she shaved her head: http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip11034.htm I don't think she had enough time to grow it as long as it looks in the picture above - maybe it was a wig. |

![]() I'm sure it must be a wig, but it's a really good looking one, juding by that one picture. Quality hairpieces can really look natural and good, too bad so many celebs sport bad looking ones.
I think it's less or about two years since she shaved her hair completely for a movie, no way her hair could have grown that long in such a short time. She's also been sporting shortish hairdos since then.

she really did continue to look pretty with a shaved head didn't she? That is why the rest of us grow long hair - I know I would look like an alien with a shaved head ![]() |

I never thought about a wig- I just had figured it wasn't extentions based on how all her hair is one length- with extentions you can almost always see what layer they are attatched to. But a wig makes perfect sense. Scarlett Johanson has lovely long blonde hair as well that would either be a wig or an act of god since it's too long to have not been noticed in the press. I just really love Natalie Portman's hair since I'm about her height and have a similar hair color to her, so I can visualize my hair at that stage ![]() |

She really, really did. I've liked Natalie Portman ever since I watched 'Leon' but never had a crush on her. Then I saw her with a shaved head and she instantly pinged my radar! I have a few friends who have had shaved heads since I've known them. It's tempted me but, really, it's one of the few looks I just know I could never pull off. I have a pale, lumpy head. Who wants to see that? ![]() It looks so amazing on some women, though. |

![]() I love period films too, but not just for hair, for the wardrobe too heh heh.
We rented Elizabeth the Golden Age this weekend, it was a 2 day rental, and I'm sure I watched it at least 4 times (I watched it back to back until I returned it LOL) I even attempted a bun Bess wears alot throughout the movie-it looks like a Cinnbun of some fashion, but my hair is not long enough yet. I never get sick of watching the first dancing scene in P&P either-soooo many different buns! SQUEEE! ETA: I agree, Natalie is one of the few women who looks very attractive with a shaved head.
