Default Ebay strike???

Thought this was the most appropriate place to mention this... I got a bulletin the other day on myspace with a video about an ebay user strike. Something about the owner/CEO and verbally slamming the ebay users... I dunno, anyone else heard about this? Here's the link to the video on YT:

Thoughts?

My thoughts are that ebay execs have forgotten who writes their friggin checks. As a buyer and seller of ebay since 99, I am completely outraged. Everyone, spread the word on the boycott... and sign the petition too! http://petitiononline.com/FVF/petition.html

Wow, I am embarrassed to admit that even though I am a frequent Ebay buyer, I had no idea of any of this. Thank you so much for sharing this information and I will in fact be participating in the "strike". I know just how important Ebay has been for so many sellers, and I want them to succeed.

Wow! I use e-bay but had no idea either. I also noticed the link to an article from PC World about e-bay accounts being compromised. Wow. What an eye opener. Thanks for sharing that. Here's for honest buisness practices.

You're welcome. I am also in fact joining the strike. Then I am closing my account and taking my business to amazon.com.

The article only stated that, so far, eBay had found no indication that their servers were comprimised and that the information listed (cc#s, etc) seem to be invalid information anyway.

In another article at PC World, some eBay sellers were stating that they would save $$ under the new policy, while others were saying they will lose $$. I guess it depends on what sort of seller you are (how many items sold, how many listings, price of items, etc).

I am not supporting the changes at eBay; I am just stating what I found on my very brief jaunt online about these topics.

I can't access youtube, does anyone know if there's a summary of the article elsewhere I could read - I'd like to know what's happening!

I know that they've made it (or plan to make it) so sellers cannot leave negative feedback to thier buyers anymore which is just dumbassery IMO... I don't know anything else.

Huh, I guess they've been pretty good at keeping this on the "down low"-I've not heard anything til this thread! I've signed the petition.
I've not bought on ebay for a while, but I purchase from half.com all the time, and it's owned by ebay.

It has been reported on national news as well. I saw it in the NYTimes and on CNN. Yes there is an organized sellers boycot of Ebay for the week of 2/18. The reason? Ebay is making major changes that are bad for sellers. They are raising seller fees (final value fees for ebay stores will be raised from 8% to 12%- outrageously high!), and they are no longer allowing sellers to leave negative feedback to buyers. Most sellers are up in arms, and leaving. I personally closed my store on Ebay, and opened one on Etsy. Much cheaper, more friendly and a very cool community.
